• Clean the windshield: Use an ammonia-free glass cleaner to clean the windshield, especially the area behind the rearview mirror where you’ll mount the dash cam.
• Avoid ammonia-based cleaners: Windex, for example, can damage your tint if your car has tinted windows.

For the front camera, choose a mounting spot at the top center of the windshield, making sure it’s aligned properly by checking the live view using the Thinkware app. Once you’re satisfied with the placement, peel off the adhesive backing and press the dash cam firmly onto the windshield, holding it for several seconds to ensure a secure bond.

Next, attach the Thinkware RADAR Module near the front dash cam for added parking mode protection.

To access the fuse box, locate it in the passenger-side footwell by removing the side panels and lifting the carpet. Use a circuit tester to identify the correct ACC (Accessory) and Constant power fuses.

The ACC fuse powers on when the ignition is on, while the Constant fuse remains powered even when the car is off.

For the 2024 Volvo XC60, you’ll tap into the Heating/Steering Fuse (15A) for ACC power and the Door Module Fuse (20A) for Constant power. Connect the hardwiring kit to these fuses using Micro2 fuse taps, and ground the wiring by attaching the ground wire to a bare metal surface.

Once the power connections are established, route the power cable from the fuse box to the front dash cam. Run the cable along the A-pillar and tuck it neatly behind the trim using a pry tool, making sure the wire doesn’t interfere with the curtain airbags.

Afterward, mount the rear camera at the top center of the rear windshield, avoiding defroster lines, and route the connecting cable from the front unit through the A, B, and C pillars. Use the pry tool to keep the cables concealed for a clean, professional finish.

With the wiring complete, test the system by powering on the vehicle. Both front and rear cameras should activate automatically. Use the Thinkware app to adjust the camera angles for optimal coverage, and enable Energy Saving Parking Mode 2.0 if the RADAR Module is installed. Once everything is working properly, secure any excess cable length behind the panels to maintain a tidy appearance.
